Professional Bio

Alis is a gifted teacher, dynamic community cultivator and a transformation catalyst. From a young age, she studied and practiced with teachers, focused on engineering the systems that could sustain the growth and development of empowered and humble leaders, focused on the flourishing of their local and global communities. She has studied and devotionally practiced wisdom traditions from different lineages around the world, seeking the tools and patterns they  hold in common. Filled with conviction that “while we share common experiences it is our language that keeps us divided,” she has devoted much of her life to creating bridges between varied perspectives, and developing and teaching the tools to find resonance with one another. 

In practice, she has developed community hubs for individuals to heal, express themselves, and witness one another in intentional seasons of transformation. Her early years based in one of the most Culturally Diverse Communities within San Diego, she worked alongside several non-profits, whose objectives were focused around the issues of cultural, economic, and social disparities, observed in the border town and cultural melting pot. With tensions rising, in response to the impact of gentrification, she observed the disassociation between cause and effect, as over and over one individual's actions created an  unacknowledged ripple, that was sometimes devastating, to the unknown local community. 

Raising a young family she experienced the pitfalls of systematized education, justice, and health that instigated the choice to seek change and solutions. Fervently believing that thriving local communities hold the solution to the problems, left by larger systemic failures. She creates opportunities, education, and coaching, for people to grow sovereignly alongside the people they choose to do their lives with.

Currently Alis lives in Costa Rica, speaking and performing in places such as Envision.  Working alongside different community partners, such as Soltara Healing Center, and  Life Project Education, where she is helping cultivate and document the strategies that support thriving communities, as individuals continue to heal and transform.
